To say 2020 was tough is an understatement for us all. Obstacles came flying from everywhere! I struggled a lot in the beginning of the pandemic, mostly mentally.  I struggled knowing that I couldn’t control Covid. I didn’t want to work out because all my races were getting canceled and there was no end in sight. I was unmotivated. We were staying home a lot and only going out for groceries and anything else we needed. We then decided that this would be a good time to get a puppy for a second pup. Boy we forgot what it’s like to have a puppy! Training was tough. My husband and I had to figure out how to care for the puppy during work hours and training hours on top of that. We had to really sit down and figure out how to do it all. Not to mention, this puppy was showing not to be as easy as our first pup. He was chewing on everything, was barking at everything, wasn’t sleeping past 4am, just all around a tough cookie. But we signed up for it. We had to figure it all out. It wasn’t fun and it wasn’t pretty. We decided we had to take turns for training (we both do triathlons). It made for late nights. We ate late dinners, did late puppy walks, and were exhausted everyday, but it was working. Thank goodness! It took months to figure this out, but it is finally getting easier as we are getting used to it and we think we have races in sight for 2021 *fingers crossed*. That has helped! Can’t wait for 2021 race season! We all need it!
